After some good advice from a friend who is a keen road cyclist, I decided to plan and do a "climbing hills" training ride.
The route took in at least five big(ish) hills to climb, with three of these repeated twice on a loop of the circuit.
Elevation was just over 1,000ft on an 18.9-mile route where I maintained an average speed of 15.1mph.
Scarily on one downhill descent (before I looped around and climbed the same hill) I reached a maximum descending speed of 39.8mph!!
This second ride of the weekend all helps in the 'War of Miles' challenge with AFC Bournemouth during the month of April.
