Support from Queens Park Athletic FC

I'm proud to call myself an ex-QPA player! Having played for the club for a number of years as a right back. That is me in the front row in the middle in the picture below!

History of QPA

Queens Park Athletic Football Club was founded in 1935, entering Bournemouth League in 1937.  The Reserves made their first appearance in 1951.
The Club's name was based on the place used for pre-season training, by the Rifle-Range next door to the Queens Park Golf Course in Bournemouth.  Matches were played there in the early years and in fact a pitch is still there. George Few was elected Hon Secretary at the inaugural meeting and remained until becoming the first full time Bournemouth FA Secretary in 1973 and retained this position until 1986.

Their support has been brilliant. With tweets, donations and Facebook updates, all helping to promote and support the London to Amsterdam charity bike ride for Prostate Cancer UK, as I represent and ride in AFC Bournemouth colours.

QPA has a proud history and an association to AFC Bournemouth. In April 2015 I came out of retirement to play in the #Score4Sammo charity game at Poole Borough's ground. Raising funds and supporting my player/ manager during my years at QPA, Mark "Sammo" Samson as he bravely battles leukaemia.

In the first half I played right back in a back four containing Cherries legend Steve Fletcher at centre back. Our opponents that day were the current first team players from QPA.

This year see's the club celebrate it's 80th anniversary and a charity match is being planned for late April at Wimborne Town's ground.
Again another Cherries legend has agreed to support QPA and play in the game. Legendary goalkeeper Jimmy Glass.

More details coming soon and they will be posted on the QPA Facebook page -
